READ ACROSS AMERICA| MARCH 2nd
Share
Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd. The annual event is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association.
The entire month of March, in fact, is dedicated to reading. The National Education Association (N.E.A.) aims to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults. Events are organized across the nation by schools and organizations to promote the same.
Books have the magic to transport us to different worlds, spark imagination, and instill a lifelong love of learning. Read Across America Day, also affectionately known as Dr. Seuss Day, celebrates this magic, inspiring children and adults alike to pick up a book and delve into its wonders.
Read Across America Day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1997 with the goal of promoting reading among children.
This is also a great time to volunteer at a school or library to read to students.
